GLORY: BISHOP OYEDEPO @ 62, Check out Some Thought-Provoking Things About “Brother David” in His Early Days

BISHOP OYEDEPO @ 62: Some Thought-Provoking Things About “Brother David” in His Early Days
Bishop David Oyedepo @ 62

Bishop David Oyedepo, the President, Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners’ Chapel, clocks 62 today. He was born on September 27, 1954. As w all already know, he was not born a Bishop or Papa, as he's fondly known and called today. He crawled, played on sand, ran around without clothes as most kids do. However, he also did a few things differently as a little child, which form the crux of this piece dedicated to his 62nd birthday. Let’s take a journey back to when he was still a small boy – yes, a small boy!
Heavenly Race: As far back as 1964 at age 10, young David Olaniyi Oyedepo, had started fantasizing about heaven (based on heaven-based stories he had heard), and he wanted to be there by all means. (No be today this man like heaven!) So, he made a child-like attempt to ‘relocate’ by running towards the horizon that always looks like heaven, touching the earth, until he (and his co-traveler kid friend) met an old man who sent them back.
Love For The Gospel: Between age 10 and 12, (1964 – 1966), he was already ‘practicing’ preaching using his grandmother’s living room as church and her soup cupboard as podium – and he had about 5 children as ‘congregation.’ That was even before he discovered the "Jackpot" of Matthew 6:33, a story for another day.
The Rod of Moses: At that same age, and based on biblical stories he had heard, he asked a carpenter to make a Moses-kind-of-rod for him – to ‘divide’ the Red Sea and take people to the Promised Land (And later in his life, God would hand him The Mandate, to liberate the world from all oppression of the devil...)
Change of Status: At 15, he got saved – and till today, he remembers when (February 19, 1969), where, and through whom (Betty Lasher).
Tuberculosis Destroyed: In September that same year, having been a victim of tuberculosis, he woke up one night and discovered that his dormitory mates had moved away from his space because he coughed very badly. And he took a step of faith: went out and stood on a little rock behind the hostel; called on Jesus The Christ, saying, ‘Jesus, if it is true that you did all those miracles that I read about in the New Testament, do it again…” That was the end of TB…at age 15! His testimony: “He set me free from tuberculosis in 1969 and I'm free forever, for whatever the Lord does shall be forever".
Dignity of Labour: At 16, he earned his first money, having learnt the virtues of the dignity of labour from his maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Rachael Adeyiola Odetundun. Though he was comfortable, he just needed to learn how to earn – at 16! Well, he didn’t forget to ‘spoil’ himself a little with his hard-earned money: he bought himself a pair of "in vogue" shoes called ‘Apollo’.
Conference at 16: He attended his first Christian conference in March 1970 at age 16 – and he still remembers the theme till today: "God is not slow."
Bishop David & Pastor Mrs Faith Oyedepo
The Miracle @ 16: In 1970, his younger brother had died of measles but he won’t take that. He made his mother put the ‘dead’ child on her back and led her to an uncompleted building where he laid the child down, prayed, called on Jesus, and the child jerked back to life.
The Assignment: When in 1973 he was asked to relieve a teacher who was due for maternity leave, he jumped at it. It was at a village in Kwara State. The first thing he noticed when he got there was no single church, not even the ubiquitous Catholic Church! He went into action: First, he prayed, “Lord, let me never leave this village the same way I met it; Lord, put your name in this village.” And 40 days later, a church building was already in place. On his last day there, he got a prophetic gift (a lantern) from the elders of the village with these words: “Silver or gold we have not, but we give you this lamp. Let the light that you brought to our village shine round the world.” That light is still shinning, even brighter today!
Prayer, Like Food: From 1971, he was already a student leader organizing special prayer meetings in his school. “Prayer was indeed like food to me,” he wrote in THE MANDATE, one of his books.
The 'Jackpot of Life': In 1976, at age 22, he had an encounter with the Holy Spirit in Matthew 6:33 as revealed to him: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God… and all these things that others are dying to getshall be added onto you.” That revelation is still liberating many today - seeking ONE THING and gaining command over ALL OTHER THINGS!
Young Pastor David Oyedepo
THERE'S HOPE FOR BOTH THE YOUNG AND NOT-SO-YOUNG!
As we all rejoice with God's servant, if you have gone past the aforementioned ages, no need to worry; you can start from where you are. God is all you need to have all your needs met. If you are still a teenager, don’t let that word “teenager” limit you; you can do all things through Christ. And no matter how old, if you are not born-again yet, take that step today.

DELSU HOSTS 5TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The African indigenous knowledge systems which has hitherto been basterdized by Colonialism and unarguably helped by African scholars to undermine and disdain indigenous African ways of life, are now making a remarkable turnaround.  They now believe that the solutions to Africa’s problem lie within and until we realize this and begin to make a conscious and painstaking study, analysis and utilization of Africa’s knowledge systems, development will continue to elude the Continent.
This was x-rayed by humanity scholars, at the 5th International Conference midwife by the Faculty of Arts Delta State University, Abraka with the theme: “The humanities and Reconstruction of Indigenous knowledge systems in Africa”.
Declaring the conference open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Victor F. Peretomode, disclosed that the conference which started over a decade ago, to create a cross-fertilization of intellectual discourse among key players in the humanities, has continued to wax stronger over the years.  While commending the Dean of Arts, Professor (Mrs.) Grace N. Ogwu, for sustaining the efforts of the past Deans to ensure that the conference ran smoothly in her tenure.   Professor Peretomode,   noted that the bi-annual conference has created the enabling environment for the undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as lecturers in the Faculty to update and intensify their knowledge of contemporary intellectual discourse in the humanities.
On the theme of the conference, the Vice-Chancellor said that it was germane as it would serve as a veritable tool for Nigeria as well as Africa’s artistic, socio-economic and technological development and not the present development based on sheepishly copying western models, which according to him are extraneous to our milieu and culture.  According to him, “the juxtaposition of indigenous knowledge system of human endeavour will catapult Nigeria and Africa Continent from a developing country to a developed one”.
On his part, the keynote speaker and Director, Nigerian French Language Village, Badagry Lagos, Professor Raufu Adebisi, posited that as contemporary world system continues to experience stress and strains, experts in each field the world over are brainstorming on alternative means of going about development, in such a way as to avoid the degradation of the environment and its adverse consequence on man.
He further said that the reconstruction of indigenous knowledge systems implies that while the indigenous knowledge system of African communities could be incorporated into modern techniques so also that of modernity could be incorporated into traditional techniques so that modernity could be made to blend with traditional techniques of African communities.  The essence of this combination is to achieve a harmonious mixture acceptable to a partisan of modernism and tradition so as to enable African communities to regain their equilibrium and contribute to the ongoing global efforts to find a balance between development and environment and between prevalence values of the modern world and those of indigenous community of Africa.
Taking his turn, Professor Onyee Nwankpa of the Department of Music, University of Port-Harcourt, blamed the extinction of the indigenous knowledge systems on globalization, ecrocentricism, urbanization, education development, modernity and the quest for white colar jobs.  He urged academics to do alot of discourse on the indigenous knowledge system that will ultimately lead to a revival of cultural norms and ethos that are capable of repositioning the Continent to a comfortable place in the global socio-economic landscape.  Professor Nwankpa noted that the indigenous knowledge system that is not humane in nature is exotic to Africa.  In the health sector of African traditional society, healing is not carried out only on the physical level; it believed that it must also be takled from the spiritual realm.  The Africans believe that what happens at the spiritual realm are exhibited in the physical.
Dr. Nduka Otiono, of the Institute of African Studies, Charleton University, Otawa Canada, taking his turn, called on Universities to create room for the teaching of indigenous knowledge in their Universities by those who may not have formal education.  In his contribution, Professor G.G. Darah opined that, it is time Africa’s academia got off its high horse and embrace, rehabilitate and adopt indigenous knowledge systems into its fold to serve African societies better.  The conference is an inauguration of the era of alternative thinking saying “that why not call the man who can stop rain as rain engineer and not rain maker”.
And on her part, the host and Dean, Faculty of Arts, Professor (Mrs.) Grace N. Ogwu, called on African scholars to come up with ideas that would catapult the Continent to work inward like China and the Asian tigers in order to achieve genuine and rapid socio-economic and technological development”.
Present at the opening ceremony of the conference were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor (Mrs.) R.O. Aziza, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Austin Anigala, Provost Asaba Campus, Professor S.O. Asagba, the Registrar Mr. D. A. Urhibo, Ag. Bursar Mr. Justice Egbare and Ag. Librarian Dr. Daniel Emojerho among others.  The ceremony was co-anchored by the representative of the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Henry Eseka and Dr. (Mrs.) Enajite Ojaruega of the English and Literary Studies Department.

Facts & Figures: Salaries Worth N2.295bn Paid To Buhari, Osinbajo, Others (See breakdown details)

Facts & Figures: Salaries Worth N2.295bn Paid To Buhari, Osinbajo, Others

A critical examination of the report indicates that Mr. President has an annual basic salary of N3.51m, Vice- President N3.03m, while Ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Head of Service and Chairmen of Boards of statutory agencies have N2.02m respectively.

Substantial cuts in the salaries of both President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Professor Yemi Osinbajo earlier announced when the duo came to office last year may be nothing to write home about as both of them including Cabinet Ministers and other political appointees pocketed the sum of N2.295 billion as official salaries and allowances in the last one year, Economic Confidential can report.

The development is coming at a time the Federal Government kick-started a national orientation campaign premised on the “Change Begins with me.”

In the report obtained by the Economic intelligence magazine which shows the official remunerations of the President, Vice-President, cabinet ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Head of Service of the Federation amongst other Chief executives, are in tandem with the approval of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The packages include: annual salaries, accommodation, vehicle maintenance/fuel, Personal Assistant, House maintenance, domestic staff, entertainment and utilities allowances. Other allowances are: Constituency allowance, Hardship allowance, newspapers and monitoring allowances.

A critical examination of the report indicates that Mr. President has an annual basic salary of N3.51m, Vice- President N3.03m, while Ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Head of Service and Chairmen of Boards of statutory agencies have N2.02m respectively.

As for members of constitutional bodies, Special advisers, Speech writers, Directors General, Accountant General of the Federation, Permanent Secretaries, CEOs of agencies and INEC Resident Electoral Commissioners each have an annual basic salary of N1.9m.

The report shows that only the President and the Vice-President in the Executive arm of government enjoy the hardship allowances of 50 percent each of their annual basic salaries; 250 percent as Constituency Allowances and enjoy other perks to be provided (TBP) by government. These benefits to be provided to the two leaders include, but not limited to the following: Accommodation, Furniture, Domestic Staff, Personal Assistants, Utilities Newspapers, Vehicles, Entertainment, Maintenance and Estacode.

Meanwhile other appointees including Ministers, Advisers, Permanent Secretaries and INEX Resident Commissioners are entitled to 200 percent of their annual basic salary for Accommodation; 300 percent for Furniture; 75 percent for Vehicle maintenance and fuel; 25 percent for Personal Assistant; 75 percent for domestic staff; 45 percent for entertainment; 30 percent for utilities; 15 percent for newspapers, and 20 percent for monitoring.

While President and Vice President duty tours and estacode will be provided by government, other officers have fixed rates. The estacode allowance per day for minister, SGF, Head of Service and Chairmen of Board is $1000 per night on foreign trip, Member of constitutional bodies $900 per night, Special Adviser and Speech Writer $800 per night while Permanent Secretary, Director General and INEC Electoral Commissioner take $600 per night each on foreign trips.

Further checks by Economic Confidential reveals that an average Nigerian worker with a minimum wage of N18,000 a month will have to work for more than four years before earning the utility allowance for Ministers of the federal Republic. Unless the remuneration package is reviewed downward for the political appointees and upward for the Civil servants the executives will continue to enjoy the current salaries and allowances.

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) determines and fixes the remuneration packages of public and political office holders, while the National Salaries, Wages and Income Commission fixes the salaries and allowances of civil servants in Nigeria.

LEARN How To Quit Your Job And Follow Your Dreams Without Going Broke

How To Quit Your Job And Follow Your Dreams Without Going Broke

How To Quit Your Job And Follow Your Dreams Without Going Broke

Many people grow up with great aspirations. Their dreams are usually planned out with a perfect ending, where they are completely fulfilled in life and truly happy. But as much as we’ve the power to dream, we end up having to work with whatever life throws at us, which is usually completely different from what we envisaged.

Pursuing our dreams always seems a lot harder than perceived, especially when we’re caught up in a job that gives us little to no time to discover our true selfs and follow the path we’re meant to be on. The issue of financial security outside a job also sends cold chills running through our spines because, the possible outcome of whatever business or passion we set to pursue is never always guaranteed.

If you’re caught up in this trap and are looking for smart ways to make your transition to an entrepreneurial life a far-less regrettable one, here’s how to quit your job and follow your dreams without going broke:

1). Start A Business Before You Quit Your Job:

The first thing to do before quitting your job to start a business, is to run a pilot of the business on the side, while you’re still earning a decent monthly income. Running a side business first, helps you know if the venture is going to be worth quitting your job over, and what prospects it has for you on the long run.

When the business shows great promise on a small scale, you can then quit your job to use the power of the multiplier effect to grow your business as a full time entrepreneur.

2). Don’t Invest More Than 30% Of Your Savings:

When you quit your job to follow your dreams, it’s important that you have enough cash saved up to help you through your early months of trials. You have to ensure that a financial lack won’t keep you constantly worried and looking towards the comfort of another job.

The best way to handle this is to start the business before you quit your job, then invest not more than 30% of your savings after you have left the job. This ensures that you’re trying out something that has already proven itself and has some financial backing, without you going broke.

3). Register A Company, Not Just An Enterprise:

One of the worst things an entrepreneur can experience is to allow a law suit have direct access to their personal finance, and not just their company’s. When your business is a registered company and not just an enterprise, it separates your personal liabilities from your company’s liabilities, and so, makes it extremely difficult for a law suit to get to your personal assets.

For example, if a business that’s worth $100,000 dollars gets sued for $250,000, the limitation of the liabilities end with the business. And even if the owner has a personal net worth outside of the business worth $300,000, his personal assets would not be affected; only that of the business would.

4). Get Insurance:

Getting insurance guarantees a certain degree of security for both you and your business, especially when you deal in commodities. By insuring your products, health, cars, properties, and more, you save yourself and your business a major cost if anything grave were to go wrong with them.

To follow your dreams is one thing, but to survive the process is another. If you want to scale through any hurdle that may spring up in the process of running a business, insurance is critical to your survival.

5). Remember Your Retirement:

Ensure you’re building up great retirement benefits by remitting a certain percentage of your monthly income to reputable pension bodies. This ensures that you’re not just trying to grow a successful business, but also securing your future in the event that anything goes wrong before or after you get old.

HEALTH: Check Yourself: One in Every 10 Nigerian Adult Has Type 2 Diabetes - Doctor Reveals

Check Yourself: One in Every 10 Nigerian Adult Has Type 2 Diabetes - Doctor Reveals

A prominent doctor in Nigeria has raised an alarm on the increase prevalence of diabetes affecting a great percentage of the adult population.

The Secretary-General of Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria, Dr. Olufemi Fasanmade, has said one out of every 10 adult Nigerians has Type-2 diabetes.

Fasanmade, who addressed journalists on behalf of the President of EMSON, Prof. Feyi Adegoke, put the figure of those suffering from the condition in the country at five million, but predicted that it will double to 10 million by 2026.

He made this disclosure on Thursday in Calabar, Cross River State, during the opening session of the 38th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of EMSON.

Fasanmade said the situation calls for concern as over 420 million people suffer from the condition globally.

He said over 15 million people in Africa were currently being treated for diabetes, adding that a lot of awareness needed to be done to curb the spread.

He said, “Diabetes is on the increase and it calls for national concern. Globally, we have about 420 million persons suffering from diabetes and in Nigeria we have five million. This is much more than several other conditions that have national prominence. One in 10 adult Nigerians has ‘type 2’ diabetes and a few less have ‘type 1’.

“In the near future, it is believed that in Africa, which has about 15 million diabetic patients, by 2026 that number will double to 30 million and Nigeria will be moving from five to 10 million. In Nigeria, residents in the urban cities are more at risk of diabetes than those in the rural areas.

“The metropolitan cities have the highest rate of diabetes and that is because people are tending more towards western lifestyle of consuming more of alcohol drinks, smoking, consumption of fast food and others. These are some of the things that drive the epidemic that we are seeing.”

The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the conference, Dr. Okon Essien, lamented that people were doing less of physical activities at the moment.

He added that lack of exercise, alcohol consumption and smoking were the reasons for increase in diabetes and obesity cases.

CBN Warns Nigerians Against 'MMM' Wonder Bank...See Shocking Revelations

CBN Warns Nigerians Against 'MMM' Wonder Bank...See Shocking Revelations

The apex bank in Nigeria has warned Nigerians against the trending Ponzi scheme giving participants 30% interest on their saved funds.

Godwin Emefiele

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has warned Nigerians to be careful of any deposit money institution that is not insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) especially the trending MMM Nigeria community.

The bank through its the acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Isaac Okoroafor, made this known yesterday against the proliferation of wonder banks in the country in recent times, ThisDay reports.

Okoroafor said such deposit money institutions were dubious present Ponzi schemes.

“At times like this when the economy has suffered some decline, Nigerians should be very careful with those they deal with. Any institution that is not licensed by the CBN to accept deposits should not be given money to keep under any guise,” he advised.

He warned Nigerians to beware of the so-called wonder banks, explaining that they were makeshift institutions to dupe people.

“We can vouch for the banking system. The deposit money banks are the only licensed institutions to take deposits. If you need to deposit money in any form, go to any of the deposit money banks and put your money, you can buy fixed income instruments or invest in stocks,” he said.

Okoroafor said the CBN could not guarantee the unregistered institutions, insisting that when depositors lose money to them, the bank would not be able to help them.

“These people always come with very interesting propositions. These are fraudsters who are just out there to collect people’s money and run away as soon as they hit their target. There is no insurance because the NDIC does not even protect them against such risks when they occur,” the CBN said.

FINALLY: Two Natural Ways of Curing Pimples (See details proof)

Two Natural Ways of Curing Pimples

Pimples, an inflammation of the skin in which the sebaceous glands (oil glands) become infected with bacteria, swell up, and fill with pus can be cured using a very simple method.

People apply a lot of medical treatments like topical creams, prescribed creams or cosmetic procedures as a solution for it. There are two basic edible things that you can apply to pimples that will bring an immediate healing in affected areas.

It is not always advisable to Pop pimples because it can cause scarring that may last a long time before they heal.
These natural simple solutions are cheap and do not have side effects.

1. Ice

Ice has amazing beauty uses as it helps reduce swelling, redness and other inflammation cause by pimples. It also works to tighten the skin pores.
Steps:

1. Get ice from the freezer (use clean water)
2. Wrap the ice in clean piece of cloth and place over affected area of the face or skin
3. Do this continuously for a few minutes placing  the ice over the area for about 15 seconds at interval.

2. Garlic

Garlic works as a beauty ingredient because of its antiseptic properties which help heal pimples fast (it contains sulfur which dries out pimples)
Garlics are in as the latest crazy trends for its skin healing powers as they are making an entrance as a treatment for pimples and acne.

Steps:
1. Cut up fresh garlic cloves
2. Rub the diced garlic directly on the affected area
3. Leave this on for a few minutes
4. Wash this off the skin

Entertainment: Shina Peller Loses Artiste Less Than Two Years Of Doing Business Together

Shina Peller Loses Artiste Less Than Two Years Of Doing Business Together

The record label madness is still ongoing when most artiste wants to have a record label of their own even when they might lack experience of running one.

Tillaman was signed to Shina Peller’s label, Baseone Records in June 15, 2015 and just less than a two years, he has opted out.

Actor, Ernest Asuzu Reveals The Person in Nollywood Who Caused his Stroke

Popular Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu, is back to full recovery after receiving healing from Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta State, and a brand new SUV and some amount of cash reward to start a new life.

The actor recently speaking with Sun newspaper disclosed that the Stroke which affected him for some time was done by a popular Nollywood producer who was jealous of his rise in the industry.

Ernest revealed that he was in a movie location in Asaba, when the producer looked at him and told him that the movie will be his last ever he will feature in and after two days, the incident happened which is why he keeps saying that Nollywood is evil.

According to him, “God in heaven knows that I didn’t do anybody wrong in Nollywood, yet they planned to kill me. A popular move producer, who I don’t want to mention, looked at me at a movie location in Asaba and told me that, that would be my last acting job ever, and he almost made it happen.

Affirming that he was the cause of his ailment, he said, “Yes, I was still on set, but two days later, I fell ill. I had no money on me, so I called my wife to send me some money, which she did. A friend later came to my rescue. He managed to put me on a bus back to Lagos. As we got to Lagos, I tried to open the door and disembark but I fell off. The driver and passengers all came to my rescue. They carried me back into the bus and took me home to my wife and brother. When my brother saw me in that critical condition, he shook his head and asked, ‘Ernest, who did this to you?’ I could not respond, I was just staring at him. For three days, I was stooling and vomiting; I couldn’t eat. I was taken to the hospital; the doctors diagnosed me and said I was suffering from partial stroke. That was how it all started.”

UPDATE: Emir Sanusi Offers President Buhari 3 Best Solutions To Overcome Economic Recession

Emir Sanusi Offers President Buhari 3 Best Solutions To Overcome Economic Recession

The Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has offered two solutions to President Muhammadu Buhari to overcome the current economic recession.

The first solution according to him is that President Muhammadu Buhari should seek advice from experts within and outside the government to proffer solutions to the economic crisis in the country.

Sanusi, who spoke during the week at the Government House in Kano, asked the President to engage forward thinking individuals to bail the country from the current recession.

Secondly, he urged wealthy Nigerians to assist the under-privileged in sustaining themselves while the recession lasts.

And lastly, the monarch said Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations and political inclinations, should intensify prayers for the economic growth of the country.

Economic Recession: Nigerians Now Eating Lizards, Cats and Frogs to Survive....See details of where this is happening

Economic Recession: Nigerians Now Eating Lizards, Cats and Frogs to Survive
Some families in Kaduna have already been forced to eat leaves so as to survive because the rising cost of food stuff brought about by the current economic recession, could not allow them have the financial resources to visit the markets.
A youth leader, Malam Hassan Ahmed Rufa’i said that leaves such as “tafasa”, spinach, etc, had came to the rescue of these near-starving families, while lizards and cats might become endangered specie because some children were already seen hunting them to provide a cheap source of protein for their families.
Lamenting the increasing excruciating economic hardship, Rufa’i lashed at top political office holders, as well as the rich and affluent people in communities around Kawo, Unguwan Dosa, Hayin Banki and Unguwan Kanawa, saying they had the capability to assist the poor in their midst but were not living up the masses’ expectations.
“Some of them have gone on Hajj for the umpteenth time, while the money they spend making such regular hajj visits could have been used to buy food and feed several mouths. Hajj is incumbent upon a Muslim, once in a life time, if the person can afford it,” he emphasised.
He added that, “rice and maize as well as other staple food items have turned into precious commodities which only the rich and privileged could afford. Many of our people now feed on leaves, some cannot even cook the normal pate, they are seriously feeling the pang of an excruciating poverty. We pray the government should come to peoples rescue by establishing free feeding centers.
“The other time, I saw some children chasing a big agama lizard. When I asked them what they were doing, they said they want to kill it because its roasted meat was sweet. They added that even cats are longer spared because it is also a delicacy,” he said.
The youth leader challenged people in authority to explain how the food items donated to the state by Hajiya Aisha Buhari, were disbursed, alleging that there was little of no adequately publicity, if any, on how the items were distributed.
“People here are suffering; hunger is everywhere. If you go to the Masjid, you see people begging for money to buy food. Go to the hospitals, you see malnourished children everywhere needing medicare and the Doctors will say it’s either malaria or typhoid that is their ailment.
“Government should please come to our aid. It is capable of taking the people out of this predicament,” he insisted.

GOOD NEWS: Dangote Tells FG what to do to get us out of recession by December.....See details

Dangote Tells FG what to do to get us out of recession by December.....See details

Aliko Dangote has prescribed ways through which Nigeria can get out of recession before the end of 2016.

In an interview with CNBC Africa, the billionaire said: “The only way for us to get out of this recession is to make sure we move into action quickly; action by diversifying the economy quickly.

Here  are the details of Dangote’s prescription:

SELL STAKE IN NLNG AND AFRICAN FINANCE CORPORATION

“If I had challenges in my company, I would not hesitate to sell assets, to remain afloat, to get to the better times, because it doesn’t make any sense for me to keep any assets and then suffocate the whole organisation.

“What we need to do now in my own thinking… we have a lot of assets to sell. We can sell part of the joint venture; part of the shares. You know government normally owns 60 percent.

“We can sell in an open tender be it Chinese. We can change the term and make it an operating one, just like what we have in NLNG. We also have another asset I think we don’t really need.

“The African finance corporation; it can fetch them $800million easily. My own suggestion before was that they should even sell 100 percent of NLNG. I don’t think government should be in any business of investing in sectors of LNG.

“A company like that, with earnings of $1.5 billion on the average, they should get anywhere between $12 billion and $15 billion.”

SHORE UP RESERVES WITH NLNG SALE PROCEEDS

“You will not believe that the crisis that we have today, if we have $15 billion, adding it to our $25 billion, that is $40 billion reserves. That will give confidence, confidence will come back, then government will back it up with proper economic policy, where people can see the roadmap.

“Latest by fourth quarter we will be out of recession. It should be a partnership between government and private sector. We have all the answers, Nigeria falling into recession does not really scare me, if we take action.”

NAIRA AT 250 TO THE DOLLAR

The businessman said if the government boosts reserves as suggested, the naira may fall to 250 to the dollar and help the economy.

“Once we can sell assets, and put $15 billion together, you’d be very shocked at how much the dollar will actually drop, you can easily see 250. What is happening today is mere speculation.

“To currency, everybody will speculate, banks will speculate, companies will speculate,  individuals will speculate, because if you have money you want to send in from abroad you will keep sending in trickles.

“If you know that CBN has $40 billion in reserves today, if you have $100,000, you might even sell it forward because you know that this rate is going to crash and you must quickly sell it.”

OTHER THINGS WE LEARNT FROM DANGOTE’S INTERVIEW

√India has no oil, yet has over 2 billion tonnes in refining capacity

√Nigeria imports poverty and export jobs

√We do not produce up to five percent of the clothes we wear

√Government should not be in the business of building factories, but just collecting taxes

√China has more than 500 billionaires on the Forbes list and over three million millionaires

√If I have to build a road of 1,000 kilometres in Nigeria, I don’t have to waste years talking about it. I raise money and build it, and hand over to government after 20 to 25 years.

√If not for Dangote Cement, government will have to put down $2.5 billion dollars in 2016 to import cement.

√We need 65 million cubic metres of sand for Dangote refinery.

√Dangote Refinery mechanical completion will finish by 2018, but oil will flow into the refinery by first quarter of 2019.

Anambra: It is a sin to owe workers in this recession – Obiano tells fellow Governors (ManofThePeople)

Governor Obiano

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has affirmed that it is totally wrong and callous for any government to owe its workers salaries, especially now that Nigeria is in recession.
Obiano made this remark during the commencement of the Anambra State Fire and Safety Summit in Awka on Wednesday.
The governor, who expressed fear that the dollar would continue to rise against the naira, predicted that it would take no fewer than 18 months for the economic downturn in the country to subside.
He said, “A state that does not pay its workers is inviting calamity. Payment of workers’ salaries energises the economy.
“We saw this recession early and made agriculture one of the pillars of our administration. This is why we have been paying our workers. It is wicked to owe workers at a time like this.
“People should embrace risk management. That is the solution to disaster, especially in a recession.
“No recession lasts less than 18 months, so we need to wake up. The naira is moving to N500 per dollar.
“We need to secure our certificates and other valuables of ours so that nothing will happen to them overnight. That’s the way to survive in a recession.”
The governor, however, observed that the people of the South-East geopolitical zone had not been paying attention to insurance.
“My expectation is that our people will be better informed about disaster and its management after listening to the various speakers at this summit,” Obiano said.

Winning Wisdom: Laziness (GET INSPIRED)

Winning Wisdom: Laziness

Topic: Laziness [17/9/2016]
Text: Proverbs 13:4
Laziness is a terrible  illness amongst youngsters. It is a syndrome that has killed and is still killing many potentials. It has become so endemic among young people and manifests itself as procrastination or vacillation, decreased level of motivation, lack of interest and lack of self confidence. And it has resulted to starvation, rejection, backwardness, stagnancy, and many other adverse effects. Proverbs 15:19 says "the way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain."
Scriptures refer to a lazy man as one who is slothful and a sluggard. God does not approve of us being lazy, instead He wants us to work (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Romans 12:11 says: "not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord." A slothful man can not please God, because he does not have the willpower to do God's will. He is always at the mercy of others. Proverbs 20:4 says: "the sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing."
But does the 'Laziness Syndrome' have a cure? Yes, it does. Proverbs 6:6 says: "go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise." The cure is in your action. You are asked to first 'GO'. So move out of your comfort zone, take a step up. Secondly, 'CONSIDER', which is to think. Deliberate on issues that can make you better. The "I cannot" mentality should be altered. Finally, 'BE WISE'- Take wise actions. Christ, our Example was not lazy at all. In John 9:4, He said: "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." Be like Jesus. Work!
Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I know that You are not happy with the sluggards and You do not approve that I should be slothful. I take up the willpower to work, by Your grace and help. Let every syndrome of laziness be terminated from my life in Jesus' name. Amen.

Sign of End Time: South African Universities to offer Bsc Witchcraft

South African Universities to offer Bsc Witchcraft.

The South African Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande has announced plans to have witchcraft included in the curriculum from 2018.
Speaking to representatives from student unions around the country, the minister announced the shocking move and urged future university entrees to consider taking Witchcraft. “There is a lot we can learn from witchcraft, like how they fly in that winnowing basket. Imagine if we learn that skill. It will eradicate traffic jams and everyone will just get in their basket and fly. It also means we will not be importing fuel anymore.” Blade said.
The announcement was met with boos and bottle throws from the packed auditorium who had gone to the meeting hoping the minister would announce a 0% fee increase for the coming year. The unperturbed minister also invited renowned witches to make an appointment with his office so they can have their skills tested and those outstanding would then be hired as lecturers.
He also invited witches from across the border, promising them permanent residents permits. “I spoke to Gibs (Minister of Home affairs Malusi Gigaba) and he agreed to issue witches from outside South Africa with permanent residence permits. I heard Malawi and Zimbabwe have an impressive collection of witches. We are hoping they will heed the call”, he added.
Applications is said to be closing on the 30th of September at midnight, after which an appointed panel with conduct interviews. There currently is an opening for 109 witches.

Obasanjo says, Buhari didn't meet an empty treasury, he inherited $30 billion from Jonathan
Former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has faulted incumbent President Buhari for claiming he received nothing from the previous administrations.
In an Interview with Frisky Larr, Obasanjo said, “When I assumed office in 1999, I inherited $3.7 billion in reserve, while Buhari met $30 billion, almost 10 times of what I met then, and the price of oil then was $9. When it got to $20, I was dancing.
“I know the price is down now and with time, it will jump up again. What Buhari is doing currently is preparing ground for Nigeria to take advantage when it goes up again,” he maintained.
Several media reports had previously quoted President Buhari saying he inherited an empty treasury.

TEACHING: Handling Sexual Perversion (3)by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Handling Sexual Perversion (3)
by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Hello Reader,
A very warm welcome to this wonderful edition of “Family Life”. few days ago, I examined adultery as one of the sexual perversions. I said that adultery is any sexual intercourse by a married person other than his lawful spouse. I equally said that adulterer is simply a man or woman who goes into sexual relationship as a married man or woman, but does it outside of wedlock. Today, I will be talking on God’s view on homosexuality and His prescribed remedy.
The dictionary defines a homosexual as one who is sexually attracted only to people of the same sex as oneself. God defines it as an abomination. The Word of God says: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination” (Leviticus 18:22 ).Yet the world is teeming with homosexuals; some churches even conduct marriages for homosexuals! They are fighting for the right to be regarded as a nuclear family. They are everywhere: in government, on the streets, in institutions of learning.
Watching CBN’S 700 club one day, I saw a Christian woman who had been ensnared by the spirit of homosexuality (it’s a spirit you know) and who required help to break the habit. She had suffered in secret for many years and now needed deliverance. See Also: Handling Sexual Perversion (2)
In secondary schools, youngsters are drawn into homosexual practices by cruel seniors, and their own lust. But for whatever reason, homosexuality is of the devil. The Word of God says, “Because they do this, God has given them over to shameful passions, Even the women pervert the natural use of their sex by unnatural acts ( Romans 1:26-27).(Good News Bible) In the same way the men give up natural sexual relations with women and burn with passion for each other. Men do shameful things with each other, and as a result they bring upon themselves the punishment they deserve for their wrongdoing.”

ORIGIN
Where did the problem emanate’ From the fall. After man fell and handed the government of the world over to the devil, the devil tried to pervert every good and perfect thing God had made. God created a means of procreation between the man and his wife. After the fall, man wondered what it will feel like to mate with animals and with people of like sex. What God created to be enjoyed between the man and his wife became marred. Man began to seek other women outside marriage; he began to crave for intercourse with men. Unregenerated man keeps searching for new ways of living in “excitement”. Because homosexuality is a spirit, they become chained to it and are unable to escape. When a man becomes born-again, something happens: sin has no dominion over him any longer (Rom.6:14). He is free to walk away, and as a matter of fact is advised to flee from every appearance of evil.
REMEDY
What is the remedy for anyone caught in the web of homosexuality’
A. Become Born-Again
Only Christ has the remedy. When He died on the cross, He paid the price for all sins, once and for all (Rom.6: 6). God loves you, and wants to deliver you from every trap of the devil. Homosexuality is a trap and its only recompense or reward is AIDS. Do not toy with it, come to Jesus today and He will free you from its hold.
B Receive a New Mind
Believe that now you are in Christ, old things have indeed passed away (II Cor.5:17). Believe that God has forgiven you and forgive yourself!
Read the Bible and spend time meditating on God’s Word. Memorize scriptures, and let them be a part of you (Ps.119:11).
Pray: There is no situation that prayer cannot change. Continue to ‘wash’ your thoughts on your knees. For effectual prayer, you need the Holy Spirit. Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Rom.-8:26).
Fast: Set time aside to wait upon the Lord in a fast and consolidate your freedom.
Make Christian friends and spend time discussing edifying things. Do not engage in idle talk.
Attend a Bible Believing Church where the mind of God is made known in unequivocal terms.
Literature: keep away from dirty novels (as long as Christ is not glorified, it is deadly), which propagate inordinate sexual acts. Keep yourself busy in the kingdom and discipline yourself. No one can reach your thoughts; so you, by yourself, must consciously guard your heart with all diligence. Philippians 4:8 has an all-purpose drug. It reads:
“Finally, brethren whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest...just...pure... lovely...of good report...If there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
If the steps discussed above are followed, you will receive total freedom from these deadly diseases of homosexuality and sexual perversions.
The first and important step you need to take to be free from this immoral act of sin is to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If this is your desire, then pray this prayer with me:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner. I believe you died for my sins and rose on the third day. Forgive me my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today”.
Congratulations! I break the hold of sin over your life by the power in the name of Jesus. I decree your total freedom in Jesus mighty name!

UNVEILING: McKinsey research shows big opportunities ahead in Africa

McKinsey research shows big opportunities ahead in Africa
Although Africa's growth has slowed, the long term fundamentals are strong, big business opportunities lie ahead and the overall outlook is positive. These facts are contained in the latest McKinseyGlobal Institute Report just released today titled, Lions On The Move II: Realizing The Potentials of Africa's Economy.
According to the MGI’S new report, four fundamentals are likely to underpin Africa's economic growth.  Firstly, Africa has the fastest urbanization rate in the world. Over the next ten years, 187 million more Africans will live in cities—equivalent to half the US population today.Secondly, it has the biggest working-age population in the world of 1.1 billion in 2034—larger than in either China or India. Thirdly, it has the largest reserves in the world of many key natural resources (e.g., 60 percent of the world’s unutilized but potentially available cropland, and the largest global reserves of vanadium, manganese, and many others). Additionally, Africa has the chance to leapfrog old technologies using mobile and digital (e.g., penetration of smartphones expected to hit 50 percent in 2020 vs. 18 percent in 2015).
The new MGI report confirmed that spending by consumers and businesses in Africa today totals $4 Trillion. By 2025, the total could be $5.6 Trillion. Household consumption is expected to grow by 3.3% a year and reach $2.1 Trillion by 2025. The total could be $5.6 Trillion, reflecting an expanding African consuming class. Business spending is expected to grow from $2.6 Trillion in 2015 to $3.5 Trillion by 2025, and Africa has an opportunity to nearly double manufacturing output from $500 Billion today to $930 Billion in 2025. AFRICA’S economies are no longer a story about exporting commodities- but about tapping into vibrant domestic demand. Accelerated industrialization could lead to a steep change  in productivity and and the creation of 6-14 million stable jobs over the next 10 years.
AchaLeke, a McKinsey Senior Partner and Report Co-author, said:“Our new research shows how in coming years Africa will benefit from strong fundamentals including a young and growing population, the world’s fastest urbanization rate, and accelerating technological change. These will help drive rapid growth in consumer markets and business supply chains, and will offer opportunities to build large, profitable industrial and services companies. "Tapping Africa’s consumer markets will require companies to have a detailed understanding of income, demographic, and category trends. Thriving in business markets will require businesses to offer products and develop sales forces able to target the relatively fragmented private sector. But what our research also shows is how much work needs to be done both by companies themselves and by Africa’s governments to translate opportunity into tangible economic benefits.”To make the most of the opportunities, Africa needs more large companies. MGI’S new database of Corporate Africa, shows that the continent has 700 companies with revenues of more than $500 million, of which 400 companies have revenues of more than $1 Billion. AFRICA’S companies are growing faster and are generally more profitable than their global peers. "Africa’s top 100 companies have achieved success by developing strong positions at home, staying the course to build their businesses over decades, integrating what other companies would usually outsource, and investing in building and retaining talent. Further success is possible in six high-potential sectors with high growth, high profitability, and low consolidation. These are: wholesale and retail, food and agro-processing, health care, financial services, light manufacturing, and construction."
Governments need to play a stronger role in unleashing renewed dynamism. Six priorities emerge from this research.  Firstly, mobilize more domestic resources, taking bold steps to mobilize more of its own funding to finance development. Secondly, aggressively diversify economies, encouraging growth in high-potential sectors in close cooperation with business, based on a clear understanding of their countries’ comparative advantages. Then accelerate infrastructure development and deepen regional integration.
Additionally, create tomorrow's talent, ensuring that educational and training systems build work-relevant skills, and that students are aware of, and encouraged to enter, these vocations and that the private sector builds on best practice. Finally, ensure “healthy” urbanization, so that cities grow with the infrastructure required to make the biggest positive economic and social impact possible. Delivering on these six priorities will require the vision and determination to drive far-reaching reforms in many areas of public life—and capable public administration with the skill and commitment to implement such reforms.

Oil & Gas: SEPLAT PRESENTS ‘FACTS BEHIND THE FIGURES’ – BLAZING THE GAS TRAIL

L-R; Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Oscar N. Onyema, (OON), Chief Executive Officer, Seplat Petroleum Company Development, Mr Austin Avuru and Chief Financial Officer, Seplat, Mr. Roger Brown at the presentation of facts behind the figures, subtitled "Blazing the Gas Trail" by Seplat at the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

SEPLAT PRESENTS ‘FACTS BEHIND THE FIGURES’ – BLAZING THE GAS TRAIL
SEPLAT Petroleum Development Company Plc (“SEPLAT” or the “Company”), a leading Nigerian independent oil and gas exploration and production company, today presented its “facts behind the figures” for its audited full-year 2015 results at the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Presenting the details of SEPLAT’s full-year 2015 performance, ahead of its Annual General Meeting scheduled for 1 June 2016, Austin Avuru (Chief Executive Officer) and Roger Brown (Chief Financial Officer) informed the audience that working interest 2P reserves at the end of 2015 had increased 71% year-on-year to 480 MMboe, with a further 98 MMboe recognised as 2C resources. Total reserves were reported as 578 MMboe. Average working interest production during 2015 averaged 43,372 boepd, ahead of guidance and up 41% year-on-year. Within this, oil and condensate production accounted for 29,003 bopd (up 20% year-on-year) and natural gas production was 86 MMscfd (up 119% year-on-year). All of the natural gas production was supplied to the domestic market.
In a significant step forward for its gas business, during mid-year 2015, SEPLAT successfully completed and commissioned the Oben gas plant phase I expansion. This expansion saw the Company’s overall gross processing capacity double to 300 MMscfd. The Oben gas plant phase II expansion is underway with additional processing modules ordered. Once installed, the additional processing modules will take gross processing capacity to an expected minimum level of 525 MMscfd. Alongside the significant increase in gas production, the positive financial impact of SEPLAT’s gas business was evident as revenues from gas sales increased 185% year-on-year to US$77 million.
Although production was up year-on-year, the significantly lower oil price realisation and downtime of third party operated infrastructure adversely impacted revenue, more than offsetting the increased contribution of the gas business. Consequently, gross revenue for the full-year stood at US$570 million, down 26% year-on-year. Net profit for 2015 stood at US$67 million and cash flow from operations before movements in working capital stood at US$190 million against capital investments of US$152 million. Cash at bank and net debt at year end stood at US$326 million and US$573 million, respectively. At the end of 2015, the net NPDC receivables balance stood at US$435 million, down from US$463 million at the end of 2014. Further receipts post period end have reduced the net NPDC receivables balance to a current level of around US$350 million. The Board of Directors of SEPLAT is recommending a final dividend of US$0.04 per share, bringing the total dividend payment for 2015 to US$0.08 per share. Subject to the approval of the shareholders, the final dividend will be paid on or shortly after the AGM, which is scheduled to hold on 1 June 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Mr Austin Avuru, MD/CEO Seplat
Looking ahead throughout 2016, the Company has set full year production guidance at 41,000 to 48,000 boepd and expects its capital expenditures to be around US$130 million.
Commenting on the Company’s 2015 results, Austin Avuru said, “In 2015 we delivered on what was in our control, posting best-in-class reserves and production growth and taking our gas business across a transformational threshold with further expansion still to come. We acted quickly and decisively in response to the weak oil price environment, adjusting our work programme and cost structures. Against a bleak industry backdrop, we remained profitable with a strong balance sheet underpinning us. Having started the year strongly, our 2016 full year production expectation has been impacted by the current shut-in of the Forcados terminal. However, we are much better positioned to withstand such interruptions than in prior years. Our gas business takes on additional importance by providing a continuous revenue stream that is de-linked from the oil price. Our enlarged portfolio offers us the scope for greater diversification. Finally, I would like to re-emphasise that our strong focus remains on protecting the business and managing value through effective cost reductions, optimising operations, deleveraging and strengthening the balance sheet. This will strategically position the Company to take advantage of opportunities that will inevitably follow this current downturn.”
Looking ahead throughout 2016, the Company has set full year production guidance at 41,000 to 48,000 boepd and expects its capital expenditures to be around US$130 million.
